2 Wall Hangings, Pillows and a Curtain Remake–FINALLY Finished

After the holidays, I put my foot down: No new projects until I finished those that were stacked around the sewing table.

And here are the results:

Finished–the birds of a feather wall handing I started in September.  All it needs now is a wall.

Last fall I planned to make these leaves into a quilted table runner.

Several funky buttons, twine and found jewelry later, it will also hang on a wall.

Funny how projects take on a life of their own.

The dog below is cut from an old jacket.  Appliqued and quilted to a felted decorator sample, then stitched to piece of vintage wool blanket, it became a nice cozy pillow.   I have two more variations of this piece to wrap up before winter ends.

I’ve also finished a few of my signature sturdy garden/craft tool aprons since the holidays.

Notice the new zipper pocket on this sewing apron.

The idea came from a customer who wanted more phone security and it’s a good one.  Plus I’ve really enjoyed digging into my stash of colorful metals zippers and giving my aprons a more industrial look.

Check out more tool apron designs in my ETSY shop.

Finally, this curtain upgrade is done–at least my part.  My husband will finish painting the white wooden rods and brackets to complete this more sophisticated rework of the tiny blue checks that have hung in our bedroom for decades.  (No way I was throwing all that yardage out!)

The green and blue band, white top, pencil pleat top and rings are new.   What do you think?

So what’s on your sewing table as we move into March?  And what’s stacked around it that you want to finish before Spring rolls around?
