I’m selling at the Chapel Hill Farmers Market on Saturday (6/15/19) and since it’s Father’s Day weekend I decided to go nautical with some masculine sailing pillows.

So many fabrics in my collection are geared to women–but this faded old quilt top is pieced mostly of solids. The small triangles even look like sails. Take a look at the cord with wooden finial that serves as the mast for my boat.

They were cut from vintage signal flags which I found at the Scrap Exchange in Durham. The flags are stained and worn through in places, but I plan to created more boats to cover those flaws.

Here’s a boat on flag waiting to be stitched up today. I’d better get busy! Hope to see you Saturday in Chapel Hill. The Farmer’s Market runs from 8-noon.
